Sequim Middle School students are once again bringing home top honors from the Washington HOSA State Leadership Conference, continuing a strong tradition in health science competition. For the third consecutive year, Reese Hale earned first place in Medical Reading. Eleanor Jones also captured first place in Foundations of Veterinary Science. The Public Health team of Emma Simpson, Emma Miller, Madison Bush, and Rosie Sly Hobson added another first-place finish for Sequim. The team also earned first place in the Anatomage competition.
Additional individual results included a second-place finish for Rosie Sly Hobson in Extemporaneous Health Poster and a second-place finish for Eleanor Jones in Medical Reading. Madison Bush placed third in Extemporaneous Health Poster, and Emma Miller earned fourth place in Life Threatening Situations. Because of their top finishes, the first, second, and third place winners have qualified for the HOSA International Leadership Conference in Indianapolis this June, where they will compete alongside students from across the world.
Sequim Middle School HOSA advisor Mrs. Colwill played an important role in preparing and encouraging students throughout the season. Under her guidance, students have not only learned the content behind health science careers but also how preparation, teamwork, and confidence can lead to success.
With another year of outstanding results, Sequim Middle School HOSA continues to show that when curiosity meets dedication, impressive things happen.
